I-66 and Prince William Parkway nightly ramp closures tonight - Aug. 26

WELLINGTON – Weather permitting, the I-66 and Prince William Parkway (Route 234, Exit 44) interchange will have nightly ramp closures for paving Monday night, Aug. 17, through Wednesday night, Aug. 26, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The ramp closures will occur as follows:

Eastbound I-66 to southbound Prince William Parkway

11 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, to 4 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18.
11 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, to 4 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19.
11 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, to 4 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20.
11 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, to 4 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21.

Traffic will be detoured via eastbound I-66, Exit 47 ramp to southbound Sudley Road (Route 234 Business to Manassas), southbound Sudley Road, and westbound Balls Ford Road (Route 621) back to southbound Prince William Parkway.

Northbound Prince William Parkway to eastbound I-66

11 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, to 4 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18.
11 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, to 4 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19.
11 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, to 4 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20.
11 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, to 4 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21.

Traffic will be detoured via the Balls Ford Road interchange, which is located about a mile prior to the I-66 interchange. The detour route will be: Northbound Prince William Parkway ramp to eastbound Balls Ford Road, eastbound Balls Ford Road, and northbound Sudley Road back to eastbound I-66.

Westbound I-66 to southbound Prince William Parkway

11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, to 4 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22.
11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, to 4 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 23.
11 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, to 4 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24.
11 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, to 4 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25.
11 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, to 4 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26.
11 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, to 4 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27.

Westbound I-66 traffic will be detoured via the Sudley Road (Route 234/Route 234 Business, Exit 47) interchange, which is located three miles prior to the Prince William Parkway interchange. The detour route will be: Exit 47A (Route 234 Business to Manassas), southbound Route 234 Business, and westbound Balls Ford Road (Route 621) back to southbound Prince William Parkway.

Northbound Prince William Parkway to westbound I-66

11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, to 4 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22.
11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, to 4 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 23.
11 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, to 4 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24.
11 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, to 4 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25.
11 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, to 4 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26.
11 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, to 4 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27.

Traffic will be detoured via the Balls Ford Road interchange. The detour route will be: Northbound Prince William Parkway ramp to westbound Balls Ford Road, westbound Balls Ford Road, westbound Wellington Road, northbound University Boulevard, and southbound Route 29 back to westbound I-66.

Drivers are asked to follow posted detour signs.
